Web Confidential

Changes in version 2.2.2

These items are new in the application:

Support for the Opera web browser.
A keyboard shortcut fix for Ircle.
Fixes a waiting period which sometimes occurred when switching to IE.
Don't write carriage returns from the note field when exporting as tab-delimited text.

Changes in version 2.2.1

Included is a new version of the Conduit which fixes the occurrence of duplicate records, which would appear when synching your handheld with two different Macs.

These items are new in the application:

Shortcut Command-Backspace for the Delete Card command.
Added an 'Encrypt' command to the File menu.
Minor bug fixes.

Changes in version 2.2

These items are new:

Web Confidential files are now binary-cross platform with the Windows application.
Import command. You can import tab delimited text files.
A new preference to show the passwords as text instead of bullets.
The Conduit for use with the Palm application has been rewritten to accomodate the new file format.

Web Confidential 2.2 is a free upgrade for registered users. A Mac OS X preview version is also available.

Changes in version 2.1

One much requested new feature in this release: the possibility of easily changing the category of a card.

You can do this now in one of two ways:

a) Use the 'Transfer To' submenu of the Card menu
b) Hold down the Option key while selecting a category from the Category popup menu

Changes in version 2.0

The big news is the release of the Web Confidential for Palm application. Please download Web Confidential for Palm now. A Macintosh Conduit is also available. Web Confidential for Palm is a separate product and costs $20. It can be bought via the Kagi Online Order Page. This product is shareware and can be downloaded freely. The Conduit is available for registered users only.

The second new feature is support for automatically filling in WWW forms in Netscape. Previously, this feature was supported for Microsoft Internet Explorer only.

Please note that Web Confidential for Windows is also available. A Windows version of the Conduit is in development.

Web Confidential 2.0/2.1 is a free upgrade for registered users.

Palm

Introduction

Many improvements in version 2.0:

Support for Web Confidential for Palm.
Web Confidential can automatically fill in WWW forms.
Web Confidential cards have a new attribute: 'Last Modified'.
Web Confidential can now create an Outlook Express POP account.
Cross-platform unencrypted file format (Macintosh and Windows).
Regarding the categories small changes have been made.
Web Confidential cards now show proxy icons.

Improvements

Web Confidential for Palm is a new application designed along the same ideas as Web Confidential for Macintosh. It uses the same categories to store your confidential information and uses the Blowfish algorithm to encrypt it. You synchronize your database on the Palm with your data on the Macintosh with the Confidential Conduit.

Web Confidential can automatically fill in WWW forms in Navigator and Explorer.

Web Confidential cards now show the date the cards were last modified.

The 'Password Manager' category has been renamed to 'Miscellaneous'. 'WWW Pages' has been renamed to 'WWW Sites' and user IDs and passwords for WWW forms now should go into the 'WWW Forms' category, which immediately follows 'WWW Sites' in the category popup menu.

The file format of Web Confidential has been redesigned to make the password files cross-platform between Macintosh and Windows. Note: at the moment only the unencrypted files are cross-platform.

Web Confidential cards now show proxy icons. This is a new feature of Mac OS 8.5 or higher. Proxy icons are shown in the title bar of windows. You can drag the icon and Control-Click on the icon displays the file path.
